Rose Gardening Made Easy
Roses for some reason have cultivated a reputation as being difficult to grow
successfully. Then why does one see such abundance even in the most
amatuer of gardens?
Did you know that rose gardening and roses themselves are one of the most misconceived
flowers?
You will actually find roses easy to grow. They
are not at all frail or troublesome plants with prima donna temperaments. Only gardening aficionados such as the horticulturist keen on breeding prize
winning roses has a concern with those types of plant potted roses that dote on frequent fertilizing and weekly
sprays. Most of us just want a rose flower or rose bushes that are pleasing to the eye and nose with their
aromatic fragrances.
Why are roses so fascinating? Since time immortal roses have been the inspiration for
musicians, illustrious poets and the very
famous master of scribe Mr. William Shakespeare who penned more than his share of plays and
poems where roses played a central part.
There are over 200 species of the genus (the biology of) Rosa with species in the
thousands. What is your preference? Climbing roses, miniature roses, roses as huge as your head, teeny, tiny roses
all in shades of red, white, yellow, pink or even striped customized roses.
Research from the Rose Reference Database reveals the startling fact that there are over 6000
roses and the search engine allows gardeners to look them up by color, name, variety and classification.

space. And if you are concerned that your choices of roses are limited
then you will be happy to learn that your rose varieties for most locations are nearly
limitless.
A word of advice for rose lovers. Plant roses in
a spot that gets at least six hours of sun each day and give them a good soaking of water specifically at the roots
a couple of times each week when the weather is dry. Avoid light
sprinklings over the rose bush. Sprinkling does not provide adequate
water to the root and unfortunately encourages the growth of fungus.
Enjoy your roses and gifting them to your family and friends. We hope your roses grow in such
abundance that even a neighbor walking by and admiring them would welcome a bouquet.
